It’s raining concepts!

Before we are going to bore you with the boring details of the changes, we want to show you our new concept-trailer.

A lot of things changed in the last days. There are a few new graphics that our team has implemented and fitted into the game. The prototype levels got a complete makeover. The Characters in the Game also changed a lot. Instead of the Square-like figures they have been so far, they look more like humans now.

The cover illustration which we have mentioned in the last blog post is now completely finished, looks bloody and carries the title of the game. Welcome to Nox Mortem!

We have established a Steam concept page as well as an IndieDB game page, so that you can fully experience our new concept-masterpiece. Next to the shown trailer, the pages also contain a number of screenshots and a textual concept, that lets you have a better insight into the game. With the concept release, we really want to have a look at your feedback. If you have any questions or ideas for changes we would like to read your messages.

The story also changed a little. We don’t want to spoil you, so we can’t tell any details, but we can say as much as that it is getting really dark. You can get more information if you watch the concept trailer and read the concept text.

Next we are going to begin with the alpha-phase of the game. Our team will be starting with the level-design, and will integrate the matching story elements. We will also start to develop the graphics for the first levels. Generic aspects as the menu, interface, graphic structure of the inventory et cetera, will be developed in this phase.

Concept on the horizon

CoverPictureNew_Small

It is time. The first picture of our game has been created, it is the cover picture.

We are very proud to show it to you.. The picture you have been chosen from three different motifs is now part of our game in its dark completion. We hope that you like it.

The decision between the three motifs has been very scarce. Many of you voted for the picture showing two more persons in the interrogation room.

In the next few days the picture will get a headline, so that we can use it as a completed cover. Right, the game has a name now. It will be released together with the finished cover picture. Until then you have to be a little patient. 🙂

Next to the concept art we have also further worked out the prototype. Several implements of the story telling have been created, which will give a simple system with all necessary story elements to the level designer. The Player can now interact with in game objects also. There are only a few little steps needed until the prototype will be finished, which means that we are a big step closer to the concept release.

Of course we are always happy about your feedback and comments that you can share with us here or on following social media:

Prototype Update

CTJSZMQWIAA7u7Ah

With our second post on this site, we will take the time to give you a short update what happened in the last weeks. As we posted on twitter, we chose the basics of the game concept and we think you will like it. At the moment we can tell you as much as this, that the project will be a 2D, top down viewed, stealth and adventure mechanic driven game. We also looked for a game engine which fits in the project, and with the given criteria we decided to use LibGDX.

To test the basic mechanics of the game concept we programmed a little prototype in the last few weeks. Here are some little impressions of it:

In the next weeks, the elaborated concept will be published on the steam greenlight concept page and also on a variety of other pages. You will get the appropriated links on the social media platforms and, of course, here on our website.

Stay tuned!
